Hazy yellow pour with a thin ring of a head. Grassy nose. Decent palate with some fizz. Potential to be refreshing, but there was a distinct bitterness that I can only describe as bark and orange peel. Flavorful and Interesting, but not exactly to my liking. tmoreau (4631) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - JUL 28, 2009
This was the ReplicAle entry for the 09 Chicago AleFest. Sampled young at the brewpub and then at the fest. 7/11/09. I’m told this will be on tap sometime soon when a house line becomes available. Poured a cloudy straw tone with a modest, white head and light lacing. The aroma was Belgian yeast, light lemon zest, and spice with hints of coriander. The flavor added smooth malt, some light sweetness, and a slight banana note. Light and refreshing. holdenn (2127) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 31, 2008
On tap at the brew brewpub. If anyone wants to ride their bike out here, the brewpub is right off the prairie path trail. So after a nice ride, a summer solstice sounds about right. Pours a cloudy yellow copper with a soapy ring of a head in a goblet. Nose of bananas, oranges, creamy wheat and yeast. The carbonation is fizzy. Oranges, malt, grassy faded hops, corriander, and pepper flavors. The spices aren’t too appealing. Finishes dry with an unpleasant grassiness. This becomes less enjoyable as I go on. 7/3/2/6/12 heemer77 (5360) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUN 29, 2008
On tap at the brewpub. The body was a very cloudy pale yellow with a white head. The aroma was massive clove with some bready character. The taste was pretty much clove with some more bread dough. There was also a spicy finish. A decent, but slightly boring version of the style. DrnkMcDermott (3136) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - SEP 16, 2007
Draft at <a href="http://bossbeer.org">BOSS picnic. The tap handle just said "Wit" on masking tape, so I’m guessing this is a regular summer seasonal. Thin head, it may be running low in the keg. Dark yellow-gold color, a bit of the usual haze. Zesty wheat taste, with an underlying patch of sourness. I don’t get too much spice in here, but, this is served here, not at the pub, and besides, I’m having this with a sweet cheesecake.

On tap at Lunar in July, ’06. Okay, I hate Belgian Whites. Really. This was amazing. It actually TASTED like the peppey/corriander flavor noe smells on a Blue Moon or other whit. Cloudy pour, hints of corriander on the nose but stong on the finish. gws57 (1276) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2006
Had this on draught in Villa Park, Illinois. Where Blue Moon smells like pepper and herbs but falls flat, this one succeeds. Deep, cloudy orange pour with a nice thick white head, nose of orange (might have been the orange served with it) and cloves, and very bready in the flavor with notes of black pepper. Delicious! Great summer beer here. Pours cloudy with a nice head. Orange peel and the coriander take over the taste with each sip and the aftertaste is very refreshing. Get one of these... then order another. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 28, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 This pale gold, frothily headed wit has a funky kind of spiced up aroma. There’s the "usual," coriander, orange peel... but also a barnyard hay kind of smell. Lively in the mouth, it has a slightly acidic, yeasty, spicy taste. Having a slightly bitter, somewhat tart finish, this comes across as a good brew for the rest of the summer.jaymobrown (1845) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 2, 2003

Pale yellow-golden color. Medium sized head. Nice nose - some pepper and spice mixed with lemon peels. Sugar sweet flavors with banana. Fizzy and full mouthfeel.
