Volle body. Goed!

Flesje thuis gedronken.

Iets zoetig, iets bitterig. Drinkt goed door. Bij mijn favorieten gezet.

33cl bottle from De Bierboom, Brugge: poured into a Westmalle chalice at home on 5th July 2016. My 666th Belgian rating on this site! Sediment left the bottle but the beers colour is so dark you can not see any haze or cloudiness, just a red blotch on the lightly tanned head where the sediment entered the glass. The nose and taste marry together dark fruits and malty molasses giving a semi-sweet brew that ends with a slightly bitter finish. Good alcoholic bite to the whole thing: a very pleasant Quad and a worthy 666th rating.

Clear red brown with a small brown head. Parfumed nose with strawberries, peacheas, alcohol, raisins, and sour. Full bodied. Sweet sour taste. Palate dominated by liquorice, ripe fruits and touch of wine tones. B:H

Couleur brun roux trs sombre, lopacit forte. Bulles moyennes partout, par dizaines, monte plutt lente. Mousse brun clair, trs joli nappage fins flocons, stable 2 mm.

A good crevesa. Has quad has 3 types; fantastic as trappist Rochefort 10, but some who come do not come to their quality; and those that are dseastre. This is the second beer. Good beer, smells good job, I lack strength in the mouth, in water. Good job with alcohol and gas.

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel. The beer is dark brown colored and has a large and stable cream colored head, with nice carbonation. The aroma is caramel and roasted malts with a hint of smoke, but also ripe bananas, dark fruits and chocolate. The taste is full bodied and medium sweet in the beginning with tones of coffee, chocolate and caramel. The finish is dry, light bitter and a little warming alcohol. Very nice beer, which reminds me a little of an Imperial Stout.
