The head is ok, the body blond. it smells malty, yeasty. The taste is mild, yeasty almost watery, a bit strange. Not that interesting. 10/7/8/7/11/7

Bottled 500ml. -from Billa Kiev, Ukraine. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, low carbonation, herbal nose. Moderate malty, slight herbal and pleasant hoppy with bitter finish. Simple, nice and one of the better Ukrainian beers.

Rune (13375) - Tromsø, NORWAY - SEP 12, 2012
500ml bottle provided by Gaute and shared at a drinking session with Finn. Comes with a golden neck and pours a frothy white head and pale golden body. Good spotty lacing. Lightly toasted grain to the nose. Clean tasting of sweet malts and sweet wheaty fruits. Mild and short-lived bitter endnotes. Watered impression on the swallow. Clean tasting. Drinkable (Tromsø, 11.09.2012).

Flaske 0,5l. Spandert av og delt med Rune og vasken under ratesammenkomst hos ham 11 Sep 12. Lys gyldenbrun. Høyt kremaktig skum. Beskjeden aroma av høy&gress. Smaken er søt frukt. Lite kullsyre. Litt kjedelig.

The aroma is slightly grainy, slightly appley. A little sulphury and a little malty. Pretty bland. Nice golden colour, but that’s about it.

drpimento (3734) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 22, 2012
Hmm. Let this one warm a bit and poured with a huge, fluffy, frothy, foamy, billowy, off-white head that slowly settles and lots of lace ( foaming agents?). Color is a clear yellow with a few bubble trails that slowly give up. Aroma is some skunk, spice. Flavor’s like nose, a little grain, sweetish, slight carbonic tang, little bitter, no hop flavor per se. Body is a tad thin, carbonation a tad flat. Finish is like flavor, too long for being as inconsequential as it is and forgettable.

Obviously, this is available not only on tap in Lviv, but in a bottled version that can be bought in supermarkets as well. Maybe that is a new thing, that is at least what I understood from the ukrainian label. A yellow beer with a lasting head, but elsewise this doesn’t seem unordinary in any way. Already here I have a hard time recognizing this as an unfiltered beer. Aroma is butter, maize and a bit of yeast - kind of unmatured. The flavor has the same characteristics. Thin, unmatured taste of yeast, maize and alcohol, summed up in a medium bitter and slightly acrid finish. Palate has medium thickness. I am clearly not impressed by this "life" beer as zhyve apperantly is supposed to mean, and the fact that this is unpasteurised or more genuine in any way doesn’t show at any point.

larsga (7629) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 5, 2007
Biggish coarse white head leaves coarse lacing. Cloudy yellow body. Yeasty, mealy perfumy aroma with malty notes. Mild, soft fruity grassy hoppy taste with mealy malty notes, and a kind of dryish edge. Dry, fruity aftertaste. Nice, and extremely drinkable. (0.5l draft at Robert Doms beer house, Lviv. I think this an unfiltered version of their Premium, served at special locations in Lviv only. Dzyga in Lviv also has it, on tap.)
