UPDATED: AUG 13, 2012 Cask conditioned handpump Fowler & Co Ryde. A very dark brown to ruby coloured beer with off-white bubbles for a head. A very tasty, malty old ale like beer with extra hopping. Good bready and brown fruit flavours. Nuts in the nose. Signs of roastiness. A very good and complex beer. Score 3.9Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2011

Cask at the Cross Keys, JDW. Pours a slightly murky brown with an off-white, foam head. Faint toast malts in the nose, some ripe fruit perhaps. Medium sweet flavor, dry, rich toast with Nutella maybe. Hints of yeast and nuts. Light caramel and some butter. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dryish finish, some brown sugar, earthy bitterness, bread, light grass. An interesting beer, seems a bit conflicted, maybe suffering a crisis of identity, but not altogether bad. rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 9, 2011

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2011 50cl bottle from Londis, Barlaston, Staffs. Reddish chestnut with a foaming caramel coloured head; aroma of spiced caramel and apple; rich fruity flavour, thinner than expected; then a dry caramel finish with a hint of smoke and a gentle bitterness. Really nice.

Cask at the Standard Bearer (JDW), Stevenage. Just as good as the bottled version. Cask gravity at Kent BF 2010. Oddly fruity dark beer, like AndrewC I thought this was more a mild than anything else, but certainly enjoyable Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 14, 2010
Cask. Pours a hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a small off-white head. Roasted malt and nuts in the nose. Light body, almost flat, roasted malt, nuts and sweet coffee. Hardly any bitterness. I would call this a Porter. 200110 wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - APR 5, 2010
Bottle, Bottle Stop, Cheadle Hulme. Poured a red tinged very dark brown colour with a smallish tan head. Sweet, fruity, candyish aroma with some roasty notes. Flavour had a definite smokiness, with dark fruits and roasted malt in attendance .Some hop bitterness also. Plenty happening in all areas here. An enjoyable and tasty brew.
