GBBF. Cask. Clear dark brown beer. Light dry palate. Good malt with a streak of sour chocolate. Well hidden hoppy fruit at the very end. Nicely joined up and tasty.
Cask. Pours a hazy dark brown with an orange hue and a small off-white head. Roasted malt and nuts in the nose. Light body, almost flat, roasted malt, nuts and sweet coffee. Hardly any bitterness. I would call this a Porter. 200110 Leighton (21880) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 11, 2011
Cask at the Cross Keys, JDW. Pours a slightly murky brown with an off-white, foam head. Faint toast malts in the nose, some ripe fruit perhaps. Medium sweet flavor, dry, rich toast with Nutella maybe. Hints of yeast and nuts. Light caramel and some butter. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dryish finish, some brown sugar, earthy bitterness, bread, light grass. An interesting beer, seems a bit conflicted, maybe suffering a crisis of identity, but not altogether bad.
