COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It’s true what they say... This award winning beer was made to be a seasonal, but created such a rapid following that it’s now a mainstay. This hoppy west coast IPA uses Carafa Malt to reach a rich black color. In 2014 Lynnwood Brewing Concern took home a Silver Medal for Best in Show at the World Beer Cup in Denver. Additionally, at the Carolina’s Championship of Beer, Once You Go took home a Gold in it’s category as well as the 2nd Place Best in Show of the competition.

on tap at the brewery; a black IPA; black with ruby highlights; citrusy hop aroma with hints of roasted malt; great flavor - bitter, citrusy hops with some roasted malt; fairly light bodied; dry, crisp, hoppy finish with some roasted malt

Tap. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small wispy brown head. The nose is citrusy hops with a light chocolate malt and roast undertone. The flavor is not exactly what I want, the malt is a little overly burnt with some heavy graininess and a lingering burnt coffee finish. It’s not very smooth at all. Light to medium bodied, a little rough on the texture with fizzy carbonation. Meh, this one doesn’t do it for me.

Growler from Beer Growler - Charlotte. Pours a black color with off white head. Roasty, sweet, hoppy, piney aromas. Hoppy, roasty, piney, slight resiny, malty flavors. I’m usually not a big fan of black ipas, but this is one of the better ones I’ve had in a quite a while.
