Strong aroma of roasted malts with some cocoa too. Flavour is also packed full of bittersweet roasted malt. Rich, full flavoured.

Bottle @ home. Hazy red to brown color, medium sized beige to lightly brown head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, some chocolate, lightly iron. Nicely bitter in the finish, quite well bodied, pleasant carbonation. Surprisingly good I’d say. Really nice Dunkler Bock.

Nice Bock, a little bitter, roasty with a taste of hop. One of the great beers of the night from the "exhibition" at Berendsen, Enschede.

Bottle: Thanks Edwin: Medium sized vast and slowly changing (into a lacing) light brown tan head on top of a clear ruby brown colored beer. Smell lots of carbo gass at first, after I let it breath for a while, better aroma’s come through like: dark herbs, caramel, liquorice wood, roasted barleys, some darker spices, hint of chalk and floral roasted grains... Tastes like a chalky and bitter mix of caramel and toffee, lightly roasted barleys and malts, liquorice wood, darker herbs and spices, toast, hint of yeast and nutty roast. Aftertaste is bitter with floral tints, malty toast, some roast and dark herbs. Medium carbo at first and low carbo when letting the beer breath, soft mouthfeel, good medium body and a creamy texture. Very well balanced, a good mix and tasty with nice bitters.

Beautiful label. Mahogany coloured body, beige creamy head. Raisins, caramel, spice, cookie, oatmeal and spruce. Taste isn’t as complex but still nice. Pretty sweet, very much high fermentation and a bit underdeveloped. Low carbonation. Decent brew. (33cl bottle, cheap)

Bottle, 300 ml. Poured into a snifter. ABV 6.7% Deep mahogany brown colour on the body. Tall off-white head, thick and creamy. Very good retention. Light to medium lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts, nuts. Taste is light sweet with caramel, roasted malts, a touch of chocolate, little bit nutty on the aftertaste with a hint of bitterness on the finish. Very good. Full body, good carbonation with a bite on the tongue. NIcely dry palate. Overall very nice bock, one of the better ones I have had this year.
