Smooth finsh with just the right amount of bitterness one of the smoothest porters I have tasked herbstress3 (221) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUL 8, 2002
Very rarely do I really enjoy a porter, but I gotta hand it to Mac and Jacks. This is tasty!! Not too roasty, actually pretty fruity OWENSR1 (11) - Washington, USA - SEP 13, 2012
Apparently I’m supposed to fill this out. Take the numbers that I put down with a grain of salt if you will, but I’m just your average NW beer junkie looking to sample as many different brews as possible. 19Ei8hty (1166) - Washington, USA - JUN 10, 2007
Smooth, full bodied real porter. Very nice roasted coffee bean flavor without being over roasted and bitter. The malt really provides a good playing field to bring the rest of the flavors into the palate. The slightly semi-sweet bitter chocolate flavor is also a great piece of a wonderful porter puzzle. improvjock (328) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 17, 2007
Exceedingly smooth Porter. So dark, it’s nearly black, yet not bitter. Flavors of chocolate with a bit of coffee. Easy to drink beer that doesn’t try to do too much. The best porter I’ve ever tasted.

deep mahogany color when held to light, nice head dissapates quickly, aroma of roasty chocolate and coffee,
complex malty flavor with coffee and chocolate tones, well balnced hops a great NW porter Ibrew2or3 (8807) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - SEP 24, 2008
On tap at SeaTac @ 6am with eggs and bacon. Nice. Pours dark seemingly murky brown with tan head. Well maybe not so murky. The aroma is mild with notes of roasted malts, toffee and earthiness. This beer is served way too cold to get a good read on the aromatics. The taste starts mildly roasty and sweet with a light amount of dark fruity esters. I also get a suggestion of hop bitterness before a growing malt roastiness transitions from moderate roasted malts to more of a burnt maltiness with an edge of chocolate malts. All of their offerings here could be served warmer. robforbes (2259) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - JAN 9, 2010
pours a jet black with an off-white head, and great lacing.
smell of cocoa, some coffee, and a touch of vanilla.
taste is creamy, bakers chocolate, sour malt, and some coffee, ends dry and slightly bitter. awaisanen (1304) - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 3, 2007
On tap at the EMP. Pours a dark brown color, semi-transparent, with shades of rootbeer and cherry wood, topped by a creamy layer of light tan head. Aromas of dry chocolate, toast, and a subtle hint of ashy smoke. Not really any roast character per say, but just a lot of toasty smooth dark malts. Medium bodied, lightly carbonated, milky smooth mouthfeel. Lots of chocolate and mild roast coffee on the tongue. Finishes dry and smooth with minimal roast bitterness, leaving a pleasant chocolate malt residue lingering. Satisfying porter with no troublesome qualities. Dark Body w/ a pillowy, tighlty woven tan head. Roasty aroma w/ notes of chocolate. Chocolate flavors dominate also, rather roasty too
