Thanks to E. Botlle with no label(usually you get this only from tap at some bars in Tromsø*), from Mack’s microbrewery. Deep deep red, almost black with a nice lightbrown head. The aroma of roasted malt with dark fruits and chocolate. The taste is sweet with a nice chocolate and chistmas spices ending. A bit oily. This is one of the best beers I have tasted from MAck, nice job! KnutAlbert (6792) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 16, 2011
Bottle, thanks to Rune.
Very dark brown, malt and liquorice aroma.
Spicy flavour, fennel, liquorice, fine bitterness, too. Sweet notes in the finish.
Light body, some warming alcohol in the background. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - APR 22, 2012

Unlabelled bottle in Olhallen, Tromso. Was told this was 8.0% by the barman. Clear dark brown - red beer, good pale tan head. Semi dry palate. Slightly soft with fine carbonation. Nice malt, a little dark with unsweet dark chocolate. Whisper of coffee. Nice fruits underneath - well integrated dark cherry. Semi dry finish. Decent.

The barman said the beer was 8 %
Beer served in a tulip glass
Almost black in color with a thin white head.
Aroma is fruit,spices,malt,caramel and chocolate.
A nice sweet,malty and wonderful autumn/winter beer.
A local brew i wish was sold outside Tromsø. Skinnyviking (9720) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2011
Courtesy of Rune. Thanks buddy and congrats with the 60 years! Bottle no lable, just something in the glass that looks like hops plants. Lov fluffy but lasting light brown head. Clear and good looking ruby body. Complex sweet aroma of roasted barley malt dried fruit caramel raisin vanilla and a just a hint of alcohol but to my astonishment I could not smell coffee. Relatively bitter roasted malt vineous flavor of sour berries. High carbonation, long aftertaste.

A few half litres from tap at Ølhallen during November. Shiny black naked surface. Completely black body, more or less. Rather subdued aroma of dark, mid-sweet malts, slightly roasted. Liquorice up front in the taste profile mingled with notes of coffee and chocolate. Dark bitter fruits throughout with a pleasant roastiness. Well bodied. A tasty Yuletide brew (Tromsø, November 2011). Geokkjer (7647) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 22, 2012

Pours deep brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, some berries and yeast. FLavor is sweet caramel with some malt, blackcurrants, yeast and grains. Medium body, soft carbonation.
Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 so this is one of my occasional ratings. Bottle at Olhallen, Tromso, Saturday 19th January 2013 in the company of Finn & Rune. Sweeter on the nose than the Nissefant, sweeter and maltier in the mouth it’s good. Smooth, soft and easy going beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5 djoeye (5209) - Tromsø, NORWAY - JAN 22, 2014
Mack juleporter 2012-edition from unlabelled bottle, 8-9% abv, @Ølhallen Tromsø Norway. Small layer on black body, which actually is dark ruby held to the light.
Scents of caramel malts, licorice, leather.
Tastes caramel malts, milk-chocolate, berries, toffee, mocca-beans or mild coffee.
Palate; smooth creamy. Ends mild, malts, caramel, some dark bitter fruits, well covered.
Overall very tasty and easy to drink too.

Medium beige head. Clear deep reddish brown body with light
carbonation of small bubbles. Milky roasty aroma with fruity,
buttery caramel pudding notes. A bit strange. Dry-sweet roasty
vanilla fudge taste with caramelly fruity buttery notes.
Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish-sweet spicy
perfumy vanilla and honey aftertaste with roasty chocolatey
earthy notes. Nice, but perhaps a touch sweet and dense. (0.33l
bottle, gift from Rune. Thank you very much, Rune!)
