When moving to a new brewery, Mack discovered an old open oak fermentation vessel, used early in the 20th century. The beer has matured with oak chips from this for 6 months to create an unique dryness and vanilla character.

Bottle at Craft Beer Clerkenwell thanks to Chris, 09/03/13. Hazed pale blonde with a thin white head. Nose is butterscotch, toffee, citrus, sugars, honey - weird mix! Taste follows, light citrus, touch hops, sugars. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Drinkable just ... but no balance - not one to revisit.

Craft Clerkenwell. Bottle thanks to Rune, via ChrisO. Light haze on this amber beer, little white head. Light palate, airy and dry. Mild minerals. Oh dear! I like Mack but this is not good! Sourish lactose milk. Trace of citrus. Light dry finish. Pretty bad! Lacto bascillus infection?

33cl bottle at CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to Chris. It pours a deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is once again cardboardy and farty with distinct dark fruit notes. Taste is again sweetish and raisiny, quite full in body. Honestly, nothing to do with a bitter to me. Strange brewery this is.

Bottke at CBC Clerkenwell, thanks to Chris. Pours lightly hazy gold with a small, white foam head. Fruity dough in the nose. Medium sweet flavour, doughy malts, very lightly tangy fruits. Light bodied with fine, tingly carbonation. Some bready malts to ginish, sugary, doughy malts. Simple but OK. Would drink again.

yngwie (17284) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - FEB 16, 2013
Bottle. A hazy, orange-golden beer topped by a small, off-white head. Quite a lot of diacetyl in the aroma, with some fruityness and lemon peel. The flavor is equally unpleasant, but it’s not undrinkable. Can’t imagine myself drinking much of this. Medium body, quite dry, with some carbonation. Some bitternesss towards the end, and with a faint hint of vanilla in the very end. Rather bad. 130216
