COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A light-coloured lager conditioned over 30 days. It has a good head, balanced sweet/bitter palate and a clean aftertaste. Brewed for the connoisseur, Mac’s Gold is brewed using only choice Motueka hops and quality barley. The bottom fermentation process of brewing by using a gravity system produces a naturally-brewed, all malt lager that contains no added chemicals, preservatives or colouring.

DruncanVeasey (8239) - NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2010
Bottle watching NZ Vs Slovakia. Brassy gold with a soft, steady carbonation propping up a fine white collar. Better-than-pale-lager aroma with some kolsch-type Asti fruit, wet cork and honey. Chunky malt character on the palate for a 4 percenter; hints of bread and honey; dabs of melon-like fruitiness beneath. Clean and decent lager, a cut above your bog standard global swill.

hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 25, 2010
Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Odd ring pull cap. Gold with a white head. Doughy malt aroma. A little sourness in the taste and some bitterness. Predictable and ordinary. However I did drink it after mowing the lawn, so it gained some credit for refreshing my thirst.

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt and hops.

A good clean, well made lager. I like the use of the Motueka hops as it adds a different element to the beer. Would drink again.

wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2010
Bottle, GBK, Liverpool. Typical golden lagery looks with a fast fading white head. Slightly sweet, malty aroma. Bready, insipid flavour. Dry finish. Had worse, but pretty tedious stuff.

phaleslu (10330) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 19, 2009
Draft at an Irish pub (can’t remember the name) in downtown Auckland. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Light and earthy, with hay, malt, and wheat in the aroma and flavor. Simple and just as good or better than the American macro lagers.

charlotte (5394) - rødovre, DENMARK - OCT 12, 2009
Bottle.Clear golden colour with medium white head.Aroma is malty and hoppy with slight peppery mouthfeels, feels a bit thin and boring and with short finish.

Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - SEP 14, 2009
It is golden with a creamy white head. The aroma is mild with notes of malt and flower. The flavor is mild too with notes of malt, flower and the slightly dry finish has light citrus notes. It’s uncomplicated and easy to drink.

Bottle. The hops don’t seem to do their job for this one. Light and malty aroma, and sweet taste. Palate is thin with low carbonation. Yellow colour with a thin head that doesn’t last.
