Beautiful golden amber. Really nice to look at. The nose is fruity and citrusy, almost like a white wine. The pallate is similarly winey, with voluptuous and almost ísquishyí malt leading into a medium level of hoppy bitterness. As the name suggests, it has a good deal of hops for a commercial beer which brings to it a nice crispness but this is somehow let down by the malt which is lacking in this regard. It also feels a tad watery. All in all a decent pilsener, especially for the price paid.

On tap at the Last Kitchen in Fox Glacier. Malt vinegar dominates the aroma, a little grassy hops coming through in the flavour. Not really sure what differentiates this from your normal macro produced pale lager. Pretty poor.

Pale colour. Mild grassy hoppy aroma, taste follows the nose. Pretty light body and mouthful. Decent enough for what it is

Draft at the Fox in Auckland. Pours clear gold with a white head. Crisp malty base, clean, and faint floral bitterness. Finishes crisp clean and refreshing. Super drinkable.

beer-yum (1653) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 13, 2015
Restrained fruity aroma in a golden pour. Nicely balanced taste with clean bitter finish. Not bad for a mass market beer - and one of the best from this brewery.

12oz bottle pours a golden color with a bit of head. Some mild hops, but otherwise tastes like a pale lager style.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2015 OK go-to beer when thereís little else on offer. This used to be better, but I think the accountants have taken control and dropped the hops. Go for the Macs Green Beret if it is alongside - thatís quite decent for a mass market brew
