Bottle from Mane Liquor. Light red-amber pour with a small white head. Toasted biscuit and nutty tones show themselves on the nose. Sweet caramel/toffee/honey (I’m getting a little of each) and floral hops in the taste. OK but not my thing jfb (6360) - GERMANY - NOV 12, 2011
(bottle) pours a clear copper colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of straciatella, butterscotch and milk chocolate, quite bready. flavour is heavy on chewy roasted malts, with additional notes of dark fruits and floral hops. medium-bodied with average carbonation and a light bitter finish. UPDATED: JUL 24, 2011 Tap @ Mac’s Northern Steamship. Clear, light amber pour with a short white head leaving heavy lace. Malty nose.Medium body and carbonation. Refreshing, nutty, toasty bitter with pine and citrus hops. A touch of fruit balances it nicely - my new favorite Macs! Davros (3209) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - FEB 5, 2011
Pours dark amber/red with a large but short-lasting head.
Nose shows generous amounts of toasty, nutty malt with some caramel in there too. In the way of hops there’s a faint fruity character. Loving the malt though.
Some of the nutty malt transfers through as a flavours but overall the malt profile seems overly metallic. Finishes with a weak bitterness and that metallic character.
Carbonation is much too high. crispi (107) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 10, 2011
great red look to the beer. low carbonation upon opening. Pours very clearly, and tastes much like a UK bitter. Small amounts of maltiness. Mild to the taste. Smooth palate (low carbonation). Would be a good session beer.

330mL. Awesome bottle and pull off cap. Pour is clear, deeper orange to amber with an excellent, yellow to tan head with great rocky retention and great lace. Aroma is all rye malt, earthy rye. Taste is rye malt, rich malty, earthy, dirty, raw grains, fennel. Pretty solid. mkel07 (6145) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 15, 2010
330ml bottle. My low expectation was certainly well surpassed. Copper colour with red flecks when held to the light. Strong beige head caps off a good solid body. Strong caramel malt aroma bursts from the glass and nutty biscuit flavours blend well together to give a smooth feel on the palate. Thylacine (526) - Tasmania, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2010
Bottle - Clear red. Light tan head. Medium carbonation. Sweet , caramel malts, fruity, woody, quite hoppy. Moderately bitter. Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 28, 2010
Dull dark amber. Light fruity aroma with some crystal malt chewiness. Predominantly chewy character, with fresh malts. Ok, probably a bit too chewy and doesn’t showcase this NZ Saaz at all. Beershine (5224) - VANCOUVER, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 22, 2010
Bottle @ Beerfest Asia. Dark amber with nice light fluffy head. Balanced aroma has enough crisp hop character. The flavors are far maltier, sweet and cookie-like. Soft palate. Decent if you like this malt character.
