Clear amber with a white head. Medium sweet malt with light toast. The malt is well balanced by medium citrus hops. Very easy drinking. Flavorful and enjoyable. mcberko (17328) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 26, 2016
On tap at Portland Brewing, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out dry bready malt and very light restrained hopping. Flavour is identical, very clean and easy-drinking, but uninspiring. Bready malt, a touch of caramel and light hop resins. Decently made. chinchill (4939) - South Carolina, USA - JUL 28, 2016
22 oz bottle in Oregon.
Deep amber colored body with an excellent head.
More hops than malts in both the aroma and the flavor. Mildly bitter.
Fruity hops with a faint bready background.
Medium-light body. Popoff91 (124) - Oregon, USA - APR 1, 2016
22-ounce bottle poured into a pilsner glass. This particular bottle was listed as Portland Brewing MacTarnahan’s Amber Ale, with the Portland Brewing standing out much more than the rest of it. donandres (527) - Bayombong, PHILIPPINES - FEB 24, 2016

Bottle from Portland supermarket. Nice golden body with slight head. Nose is malty, toasty, Flavour also malts, aand caramel and sweet. Nice bitter finish. deyholla (11505) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 1, 2016
On tap. Pours a clear amber with a creamy tab head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of straw and hay with a bit of sweet grain underlying. Flavor has lots of straw with a bit of hay and a hint of grains backing. CVBis007 (55) - Oregon, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Poured out of a 22oz bottle a slightly hazy copper with a light head. The aroma is light, sweet and fruity. The low bitterness adds some weight on your tongue, and I swear I taste apricots. Too mellow for my tastes, but a better than average amber. Sarlacc83 (2287) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 3, 2015
A: Cloudy amber color with an off-white head. Lacing.
N: Biscuit, earth, pine, peppercorn, cracker, damp leaves. Hint of grapefruit.
T: Heartily bitter. Some sweetness. Surprisingly hearty.
M: Creamy, medium body. Light carbonation. No alcohol burn.
O: Surprisingly bitter amber ale. Not too shabby if not totally complex. slowrunner77 (11927) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 17, 2014
"pleasant enough, fresh and refreshing. it’s not among the best, but it’s not something i’m ashamed to order. nice malty backbone with a nice floral hop balance."
