Bottle at home ... black .. thin tan bubbles ... very sweet very blackcurrant malt ... bit over fizzy ... very blackcurrant ... deep malts ... little burnt ... some chocolate ... while not thin the palate isnt quite right and there definitly an oddness in the flavour. bhensonb (15612) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 25, 2006
Aroma of toasted malt and chocolate. Very dark brown color with a tan head. Starts with chocolate, passing to toasted malt. A hint of bitter towards the end. Decent mouthfeel. A bit over carbonated, but very nice indeed. Tmoney99 (14857) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 26, 2006
Bottle. Poured black with an average creamy light brown head that diminished slowly and produced good lacing. Moderate roasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate sweet roasted malt flavor with an average finish. Good brew. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 21, 2002
Very enjoyable roasty porter. Nothing exceptional, but the lovely bitter roastiness is everywhere -- the aroma, the taste, and the aftertaste. Drake (14059) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 16, 2009
12 ounce bottle from the Libation Station in Johnson City, Tennessee. Pours black with a large tan head. Good head retention and decent lacing. Big roasted malt notes in the aroma with faint minty hops. Taste is roasted malts, caramel, green apple, hops. Thin bodied with a creamy mouthfeel.

Fairly decent porter. Motor oil colored with a thin head that vanished rather quickly. Very pleasant malty/coffee aroma. Decent roasted flavor with coffee pervading, although it was on the thin side. This was noticeably un-creamy considering the name of the beer. It was rather sharp and dry, but not overly so. I'd try this again. Bov (13221) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 9, 2001
very dark, few head, black chocolate aroma, not very malty, roasted with a bitter finish bu11zeye (13140) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 18, 2004

Bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a dark black with red at the edges with an averaged sized light brown head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Tastes of the same. Toasty. Lightly bitter. slowrunner77 (12586) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 21, 2014
"i can see why many people mistake this cream porter for a stout. heavy and thick bodied, smoother than most porters. not a lot of complexity here, but what it does it does well. recommended."
