Bottle shared by cbk. Near black pour with a foamy head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. Sweet roasty flavor. Good brew. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - OCT 16, 2010
Bottle:   Let me skip my normal rating style to say that this one is black, nice moderate light brown head, good nose of coffee (yet not overbearing).   Good body, roasty, with a nice coffee balance.   I am somewhat surprised, but this one is a good stout.   Granted, I didnt think this one would be of as much interest, but it is.   Fair to say, its like Black Strap with coffee added.   Nuff said.   Good enough for me to easily have again!   Well balanced, roasty, coffee grounds, bit of licorice sweetness.   Yum! Bomber from the local grocery for an insane 3 dollar price. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Smell is big coffee, everything else takes a back seat though I also note light chocolate and some caramel. Flavor is big coffee too, but surprisingly smooth and drinkable. Very creamy as well. This was a good beer, and it didn’t hurt that it was insanely cheap! hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 13, 2010
bomber from cbk. shared on 3/21/2010.
stout colored dark brownish black with a small tan head which disappears rather quickly.
the nose and flavor both show a bunch of coffee with lesser notes of vanilla, roast, cocoa and a dark fruitiness which i can’t identify. there’s an acidic coffee finish which changes the profile up a bit. the flavor and body are not very imperial but they are really easy to drink. 7/3/7/3/15/3.5

Nose has notes of dark fruit, dark chocolate, and acidic coffee notes. Pours almost black with a short lived tan head. The flavor is somewhat acidic mix of dark fruit and coffee with roasted malts and dark chocolate as well. Thin body with some alcohol in there as well. Medium lively carbonation.

Bottle shared by cbkschubert at Hellbilly’s Shootout in Sosco Tasting. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. The nose is coffee and burnt malt. The taste is coffee, charred malt and cocoa. Medium mouthfeel. Decent. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 6, 2010
Thanks to Eric for the bomber! Poured translucent coppery-brown with a short-lived beige head. The aroma picked up sweeter, light-medium roasted coffee and chocolate with earth, vanilla, and touches of darker spices and smoked meat when you dig really deep.. soft-ish overall impression that wasn’t "imperial" in nature, but would be great for a standard stout. The flavor found more of the coffee than chocolate, and it carried all the way through the drink.. some vanilla sweetness too.. dry-roasted coffee bitterness and some earth around.. a little coffee sourness on the finish. Medium-bodied with lower carbonation on the palate.. the alcohol was well hidden.. this was a smooth-drinkin’ stout, but again it wasn’t so imperial. Taste buds destroyed by this point @ Hellbilly’s. Dark leather pour with a latte head. Aroma and flavor show roasted coffee bean and cocoa. That’s about all I got!!! Medium mouthfeel. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - APR 3, 2010
One of the better brews I’ve had from this particular brewery...and good stuff. Nice and light coffee undertones in a very mild and somewhat sweet stout. Not overpowering in any which way, and a nice sipping stout, especially after it’s warmed up. Would buy again.
