Black color with medium sized head. Aroma of cold coffee. Dry mouthfeel, less strong than expected; flavor of stale pot coffee with some bold resiny hops.
Coffee beer? Maybe not a great idea.
Bomber from John’s Marketplace in Portland, OR. Pours very dark brown/black with a foamy tan head. Smells like fresh roast coffee. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is fresh coffee with dark, smooth toasted malt. Nothing subtle here. Nicely flavored brew. Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 12, 2013
Sample at the Seattle brewpub. Brownish-black pour with a medium tan head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium to full body with a roasty character and flavors of black coffee, malt and hops. The finish is dry with a lingering roast coffee aftertaste. Above average overall.

"saved this one for the finale, and it just wasn’t up to the task. my favorite style, with the addition of coffee (my 2nd favorite beverage) should be an automatic winner for me, but this one was lacking in body and flavor. too thin and lifeless for an imperial stout. decent coffee flavor (not great, but decent) after a slightly more robust aroma. not bad, just bad for the style."

Draft. Blackish beer with a dark cream head. Malt and light roasty aroma with light coffee. Chocolate and coffee flavor wit caramel. Medium bodied. Coffee and caramel lingers with light chocolate. Ibrew2or3 (8607) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - APR 29, 2013
22oz bomber pours with a dark body that supports a mocha colored head of foam. The aroma offers up earthy malts, dark roasted malts, earthy coffee and a dash of sweet malts. The taste has nice layers of dark roasted malts, dark roasted coffee and earthy milk chocolate along with a smattering of malt sweetness here and there. It approaches being burnt with black patent malts midway and into the finish. Pretty nice, this.
