Traded bottle. Pours reminds of a Coke with a brown head that quickly disappears into a film. Pretty straight forward porter aroma of darker malt and a hint of cold coffee; pleasant. Flavor and body are pretty thin. Again darker malt and some bitterness from the coffee notes in the flavor. Simple.

(22oz bomber thanks to blackswan) espresso brown with creamy dark tan head. Nose of cocoa, milk chocolate, spices and oats. Taste of raisin, watery, mildly spices, oats, with a dry watery finish.

Coffee. Chocolate. Mild roastiness. My tastebuds prefer this to many higher rated porters, but I have definitely had better.

Flavor is very nice, however, leaves a lot to be desired as it lacks complexity. Tastes of smokey chocolate and coffee.

Bottle thanks to Dallas. Pours black with tan head. Nose/taste of winter spices, cocoa powder and heavily burned black malt. Finishes dry with lots of burnt black malt. Medium body.

bottle from superdave on 1/31/11. rootbeer-ish porter color with some spots of foam left from the tan head. it smells and tastes of roast, lactose, choco, grass, spice and floral hops. the flavor has a touch of typical porter sourness on the finish. plain but solid. it is a touch thin but i’d crush a ton of ’em. 6/3/6/3/14

Smells of pine and dark chocolate, oh yeah! Dark brown with a light-brown head. Medium body with a short-lived carbonation bite. Yowza! Flavor is chocolate, light roast, pine, leaf, a hint of nutmeg spice. Good.

bomber. darker then most holiday brews. I guess there’s a hint of spice to call it a holiday ale but mostly just tastes like an average porter.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 Dark brown with tan head. Aroma: toasty malt, some toffee, chocolate and light roast, fruity esters. Flavor: Malty balance with some toffee sweetness, toasty and nutty notes and a grainy, roasty finish. Easy-drinking, malt-oriented winter ale.

Roasty nose, some coffee, and thats about it. Pours dark brown, thin tan head. Roast and coffee flavors. Very one dimensional and straightforward. Not very interesting, but nothing wrong with it either, but at 2.99 a bomber you cant complain and that bumps up the overall score. You can get way worse shit for 2.99.
