Out of the bottle. Faint cola and roast aroma. Slight bread. Pours clear deep brown with garnet highlights and minimal brown head. Taste is cola and light malt with roast in moderate amount. A little spritzy and under attenuated to give a very sweet taste. Roast more pronounced in the finish. Ratman197 (15636) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 17, 2013
Bomber poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, cocoa, light licorice and a hint of fruittiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roated malt a nd cocoa with a smooth dry lingering roasty finish. A fairly simplistic Porter. mtwhitney (168) - Maui, Hawaii, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Fizzy, but who cares, since it seems that this beer is no longer brewed. At least I cannot find it listed on the brewer’s website, although it is hard to tell who brews it anymore because of all the different owners recently. Bah. Love the insane Portland hop-head depicted on the bottle. Shink (177) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Out of the bottle from Fred Meyer. Pours a dark black color with a foamy tan head. Smells of roasted malt. Extreme roasted flavor that is perfect for a cold fall day. Pretty solid winter beer for the price. MikeJslc (778) - Alabama, USA - MAY 15, 2012
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2012 Dark brown with tan head. Aroma: toasty malt, some toffee, chocolate and light roast, fruity esters. Flavor: Malty balance with some toffee sweetness, toasty and nutty notes and a grainy, roasty finish. Easy-drinking, malt-oriented winter ale.

Single bottle purchased from a small independent in Hanalei, Kaua’i on 04/10/2012. Colour: Dark dark brown, close to black. Medium dark head. Nose: Lots of tar and rubber. Smoke eventually comes through....and some petrol late. A regular automobile! Taste: Medium-light sweet, medium-light bitter, medium sour. Sour candy entrance then settles into meat char. Mid palate has some soft caramel and then more late toasted char. Rough nose but smartens up after. jgb9348 (6590) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - APR 11, 2012
Deep dark cola coloured body with a bright ruby glow when held up to the light and a thick, two centimetre tall light brown head. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, lactic flavours and a touch of earth. Light-bodied; Sharp malty flavour with some nuts and earth in the mix and a deep flavour of metal. Aftertaste shows a little sweetness from toffee, but not much aside from the roasted malt - no spices or complexity. Overall, a decent beer, if that - nothing special, nothing interesting and not necessary to buy. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from The Wine Corner in Paia, Maui, Hawaii on 02-March-2012 for US$1.99 sampled on the opposite end of the country at home in Washington on 11-April-2012. chris2431 (241) - Oregon, USA - JAN 17, 2012
bomber. darker then most holiday brews. I guess there’s a hint of spice to call it a holiday ale but mostly just tastes like an average porter.
