On Tap. Pours an orange with slight golden hues. Aroma is, of course, pumpkin, but there was a spice note as well. Thinner mouthy feel. Taste is pumpkin, spices, ginger.....I really liked the spiced after taste, not overwhelming, just right. Nice for the style. Jethro6191 (508) - Indiana, USA - NOV 26, 2011
On tap. Orange with a thin cream colored head. Pumpkin pie aroma. Pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger notes. Spicy finish with a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. Thin watery mouthfeel. There is a slight alcohol warmth. Overall a nice pumpkin beer. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2010
tap at the brewpub - They called this one Punkunhead, but this brew is definitely not the Punkunhead beer made back in 2005 that was 5.2% abv. The brewery bills this one as an imperial ale. While the bartender unfortunately didn’t know the abv, I would guess that it’s around 8%, maybe a little more. It’s definitely not that old 5% one.
This brew pours orange-brown with a small, lingering head. It smells heavily of spices along with malt and pumpkin in the background. There’s a flavor to match with sweet malts joined by lots of spices and some quite apparent pumpkin character. They didn’t skimp on the latter. Medium bodied, strong, but quite drinkable, this brew packs a punch. The sweetness and spice is a bit more than I really want, but it’s a solid beer.
