Draft. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin malt aroma. Amber with small head. Spicy nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin malt flavor. Very spicy. patrick767 (4115) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 12, 2014
tap - This year’s punkunhead is the regular release, not the imperial version. It has a rich aroma full of pumpkin pie spices. The flavor is very sweet with nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. There’s soft carbonation and a medium body. Overall it’s pretty good though a little sweeter than is my preference. queenholly (3623) - South Whitley, Indiana, USA - DEC 1, 2012
Tap at brewery. Strong cinnamon-clove-ginger, light pumpkin malt aroma. Slightly hazy amber with a small off-white head. Strong clove and cinnamon flavor, which overwhelms what little pumpkin malt I could taste. Slightly bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. I’ve had quite a few different pumpkin beers this season (15+), and this is not an especially good example, in my opinion. ESBob (379) - Indiana, USA - NOV 17, 2012
On Tap at Brewpub. Poured a golden amber orange. Slight vanilla head. Aroma is definitely pumpkin, but there is a spice note apparent as well. Taste is more pumpkin, but the spice also comes thru, ginger, slight pepper. More spice and cinnamon as it warmed. This is a nice pumpkin style. Tap at source: (FW)
Cloudy amber with a thin tan head.
Scent is spot-on, nicely spiced pumpkin pie.
Malty, nice bite to the spices..clove, cinnamon, nutmeg...
mild and light.
A very good pumpkin beer.

On tap at the brew pub. Pours amber with a thin white head. Pumpkin pie, cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg aromas. Similar flavors with a light body, medium carbonation and watery mouthfeel. jsquire (4570) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - DEC 6, 2005
On tap at the pub. Poured a murky brown with a very thin head that looked almost green under the lights at the bar and that died very quickly. Thin vegital nose with some spice. Flavor had lots of water with dusty pumpkin pie spice mixed in. Some grassy hop bitterness in the finish. Not my idea of a good pumpkin beer. thedm (6309) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 17, 2005
This draft brew from the brewery in my home town poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent very softly carbonated light brown colored body and a fair lacing. The aroma had a very malt pumpkin scent. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and mellowed in the finish. The flavor was mildly pumpkin and not over done like many of the pumpkin brews I have had. Very tasty and actually quite good for the style! hotstuff (5233) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 14, 2005
On tap at MABC. Off-white small head that mostly diminished, fine sized bubbles, fair lacing, no visible carbonation, transparent and an orange hue. Aroma was sweet, pumpkin, light notes of spice and clove. Flavor was sweet, malty and pumpkin. Smooth mouthfeel. Light body. A very nice brew and I welcomed the fact that it was not over-the-top pumpkin tasting like some that I have rated. Good job MABC!! BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - NOV 10, 2005
New on tap at brewery:
Rich amber hue with a small fizzy head and some lace. The aroma has notes of nutmeg, clove, allspice, pumpkin bread and some caramel. The taste starts with sweet malts supported by a mild pumpkin pie spice. A layer of twangy fruit and subdued bitters as well. Not over-the-top with the spices, nice. The body is thin but crisp. A solid brew that works within the style.
