Draft @ brewery. Buttery caramel malt, rye, and orange aroma. Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Spicy rye, black pepper, caramel malt, and orange flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. Very nice rye beer, and a big thanks to my bartender (a friend of my son) who gave me a sneak peek and shared his beer with me before it was officially tapped. Pours copper with an orange tint and a fleeting white bubbly head. Fruity citrus aroma. Malt, rye, spicy fruit, and citrus notes. ESBob (379) - Indiana, USA - JUL 29, 2011
On Tap....in a Growler. Pours a copper with red hues, nice lacing and sustainable head. Nice aroma mix of hops and citrus, slightly sugary? Taste is citrus and subltely sweet, good mix of bitter hops, very good mouthy consistency, good to start, great after it warmed a bit in the glass. Very impressed with this Rye version of an IPA, definitely will be back for more! MI2CA (1340) - Noblesville, Indiana, USA - APR 6, 2007
Half pint at the brewpub - Aroma of earthy piney hops, caramel and a touch of rye. Pours transparent gold/brown with a small head and good lacing. Flavor matches aroma with a bit of a rusty aftertaste. One of the best brews I’ve had at MA and I would drink a lot more of if I lived closer. thedm (6177) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 1, 2007
This draft brew from the brewery poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent softly carbonated orange brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice rye hop flavor contained notes of mild soft hops and well balanced amount of rye. I think the rye amount was perfect and made it very well balanced with the hoppiness. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

On tap at MABC. Medium sized ivory head that was mostly lasting, no lacing, minimal carbonation, transparent, and an orange hue. Nose was lightly malty, caramel, very hoppy, some pine/grapefruit, and some rye notes. Flavor was some maltiness, caramel, hoppy and pine/grapefruit taste. Fairly smooth palate. Light-medium body. A lot more true to style than their Spring Fling brew IMO. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - MAR 25, 2007
tap at the brewpub - Pours copper with a medium sized, enduring head that left me some nice lacing. Citrus hops dominate the aroma as they do the flavor. This mostly just tastes like a good IPA. I think I’d have to have it next to MA’s regular IPA to really note the rye difference, but I think I detected a hint of rye under all that hops and the finish seemed more dry. I knew from experience that MA could brew a good IPA and this variation proves it again.
