Rated on 11-25-2009 at Mad Anthony B.C. (Fort Wayne, IN) This draft beer forms a small creamy, smooth ivory head that mostly diminishes, transparent golden body, very little carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The Aroma is malty, lightly hoppy and some hint of smoke. The Taste is malty, lightly smokey and lightly hoppy. This beer has a dry finish. The Palate is clean and dry. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this is a session beer as it is very easy to drink, easy on the palate and I detected minimal smoke factors. Pint at the Fort Wayne brewpub. Pours a stark amber color with no head. This smells like straight buttered biscuits. The carbonation is very low. The flavor also strongly resembles buttered biscuits. A small hint at caramel and wait. . .there’s the smoke. Just a faint meaty flavor hangs around. This needs way more smoke. All in all, this is a decent session brew. Draft. Poured clear dark amber color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate smoke sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium complex sweet smoke flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectation where met.

On tap at Warsaw brewpub. Initially sweet caramel malt aroma, but smoke came through as it warmed, and as I was finishing it I detected a subtle underlying fruity apricot aroma. Amber with a minimal white head. Light smoked meat, caramel malt, and light grassy flavor. Light to medium body. Very pleasant well balance smoked beer. hollardustin (327) - Indiana, USA - APR 22, 2012
Pours light amber with small white head. The aroma is malty, butterscotch, and some smoke. The taste is slightly smokey, salty, malty, and hoppy with medium bitterness. Interesting.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy white colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a amber colored uncarbonated body. The flavor contained mild smoky malty notes. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish. The soft floral hop flavor was decent quite quafable and not overly done. A good job was done on the smokiness. There was a good lacing and a nice mild smoky malt aroma. Dogbrick (13040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2009
Sample from a growler courtesy of a traveling colleague. The beer is a clear amber color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Peaty malt and smoke in the nose. Medium body and a little undercarbonated with flavors of sweet malt, caramel and light smoke. The finish is malty with a mildly smoky and fruity aftertaste. Decent overall. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 6, 2009
tap at the brewpub - Pours light amber with a dense, sizable head. The aroma is fairly mild smoke with some malt underlying it and maybe a little caramel. Smoke leads the flavor followed by malty sweetness. Hops presence is minimal, but I didn’t find it overly sweet. The smoke is obvious without being overpowering, so I’d say it’s balanced well with the rest of the beer. It’s not outstanding. Take a fairly average amber and add well balanced smoke. It’s solid though.
