Quite a nice beer this one, Quite flavoursome and is as advertised a Hoppy Hef. Wish they could start releasing good stuff like this again in the near future. varanid99 (1315) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 13, 2013
Cloudy mid gold pour with a thin head. Stone fruit, citrus and wheat aroma, taste is sweet, fruity with nice bitterness cutting through. LesArgen (369) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 27, 2012
When I think of really hoppy beers, I think of tart, citrus flavours, but despite the extreme hopping this is all about the sweet wheat. There is a reasonable amount of citrus on the nose, together with stone fruit. In the mouth, the hops are strong but not overly bitter before giving way to a cloying taste best described as fermented peach. It’s an odd combination and not one I’d want to get into all night, but as an experiment, I enjoyed it. (this is my first use of the rate beer android app and I like it a lot, ftr). mash82 (11) - AUSTRALIA - JUL 20, 2012

640ml bottle. Pours a cloudy dark gold, with lots of yellow bubbly head. Great lacing. Intense peach aroma which is very appealing. The attack has a slight grassy flavour, with peach flavours and some sweetness on the mid palate and a little lemon bitterness on the finish. Also a nice biscuity note right at the end after you’ve finished drinking. Really enjoyed it. mkel07 (6239) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 5, 2012
640ml bottle. This beer has a lot of colour and a strong body for the style. Hazy murky golden amber colour with a solid head. There is a lot going on in the aroma with a real fruit bowl of aromas bursting forth. Good texture and body and a really good strong flavour. This one was a nice pleasant surprise. Without a doubt one of the best efforts from the series but regardless does’t quite hang together. The nose and front palate shows clear here notes of citrus ad spice but the heavy hop component progressively drowns out of the fruit. Gets bitter and firm and also shows a mild ’’imperial’ note of heavy resin and cooked fruit.

I’ve always been a fan of malt shovel beers and this didn’t disappoint. A great beer.
