Handpull at the source. Hazy golden color, small but thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma of subtle grass. Taste is white pepper, caramel. dbarnold (1127) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - FEB 19, 2012
On cask at the brewery and not bad for an English beer. Light and slightly bitter goes down easy. Flat beer, but you would expect that from a cask and I found it rather pleasant at brunch decaturstevo (6339) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - NOV 18, 2011
Gold pour with creamy off white head and lace. Aroma is light caramel. Light caramel malt with a nice bitter. As you go on the bitter may be just a bit more than the malt can carry. Very light bodied with good carbonation. Nickls (2554) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - AUG 17, 2011
Cask at brewpub. Mostly clear amber, with slightly off-white bubbly head. Mostly light sweet maltiness in the aroma, with some sligth bready/doughy notes...pretty muted here. Touch leafy in the flavor, dough, and some slight earthiness in the finish. Basic bitter, medium body, slick, and soft carbonation. Not bad. jcos (1851) - Maryland, USA - JUN 29, 2011

Aroma: A fairly light, mostly malty nose, some caramel, bread/cereal notes, and a touch of spice
Appearance: It pours a clear orange-golden color with (not surprisingly) no head at all
Flavor: The flavor was pretty similar to the nose, light, mostly malty, with a medium sweetness
Palate: It has no carbonation at all, it really smooth and sleek on the mouth, and it is fairly light bodied
I just didn’t really find this one to be particularly exciting. I wanted to like it more then I actually liked it, if that makes any sense. It was just kind of light on aroma/flavor, and for that reason, It just didn’t really work that well for me. I wanted there to be something else to stimulate my senses, but it wasn’t there, and for that reason, this beer left me slightly unsatisfied.
Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours hazy gold with thin head. The nose is light with a bit of grain and caramel. The flavor follows suit with the addition of a little butterscotch, slight florals, and a little soap on the back end. True to Bill’s style, there is a pretty staunch bitterness with this one. Clearly his hallmark. Light in body with low carbonation leading to a lengthy bitter finish. It’s a nice bitter. Thorpe429 (5035) - , Illinois, USA - APR 14, 2011
"Our version of an English Ordinary and our first extreme session beer, our lowest alcohol beer. Light golden hued, ligh bodied and lightly hopped utilizing the English First Gold varietal to weigh in at a mere 26 IBU’s."
Pours a golden-copper color with a short white head and some pretty good lacing. The nose brings forward a bit of light earthy and herbals hops along with a bit of citrus. There’s a light grain character lingering in the background. The flavor brings a bit of earthy hops, but consists mostly of hoppy bitterness. At only 26 IBUs, I’m surprised the hops shine this much; at the same time, there isn’t too much else there but the sessionable nature of this one is undeniable. A nice, easy-drinking beer without any flaws. I like it.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white frothy head. Average head retention and lacing. Aroma of caramel, grain and floral hops. The taste is toasted malts, grain, faint apple notes and a grassy hop finish. Medium bodied. Strongly carbonated. radagast83 (8191) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - FEB 6, 2011
On Tap. Poured a light copper color, clear. Head was medium sized, white. Aroma was malty, though light in body. This one was a decent bitter.
