A Northern English style brown ale in the tradition of Newcastle upon Tyne hence the use of the nickname for folks of that region, known as Geordie’s. A malt accented brew made with imported English pale and crystal malts with a touch of roasted barley. Medium/light in body and very lightly hopped with the English hop varietal, First Gold. Flavors of sweet caramel and toffee with a hint of roast malt in the finish.

Draft at the source. Mahogany body with a broken, bubbly tan head. Aromas of toffee, malt, perhaps a hint of smoke?, fruity caramel malts. Similar flavor. Dark toast with subtle roasty notes. Light body with low carbonation. Pretty good.

Not bad but certainly nothing remarkable. Pours murky brown without much head or lacing, though this was the last pour of an old cask. Some roast but not much more to this. Light sour finish. Cask at Churchkey

Draft at brewpub. A light brown with mild flavors. A little sour in the nuttiness, palate is also thin. Not my choice in a brown ale.
