Mason’s Dark Mild is brewed with English malts and English Golding hops to produce a classic English beer style. The dark roasty and malt-accented beer, with hints of toffee and coffee, produces a great balance between juicy malt and earthy hops.

On draft at brewpub. Fairly dark, tan head, lacing. Definite malty aroma, some toffee, hint if chocolate. Taste is sweet, malty, toffee, chocolate with some subtle hop balance. Smooth. Very nice low ABV choice.

JDBaker11058 (2427) - Maryland, USA - AUG 31, 2015
Appearance: medium dark brown (porter-like) with a short, creamy light tan head. Aroma: nice aroma of milk chocolate, molasses, and caramel. Taste: molasses, treacle, milk chocolate, lightly toasted nuts, earthy, grassy hops. Finish: smooth, lingering nutty and molasses sweetness. Notes: Really enjoyable mild ale. Would absolutely drink again. Draught at the source.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C. light mahogany body with russet tinges. Aromas of chocolate, malt, bread. Some nutty, earthy character in the flavor. Mild dose of chocolate. Nice amount of flavor packed into a low abv brew. Good stuff.

DCLawyer (2931) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - MAY 23, 2014
Draft at the brewpub. Brown with moderate white head. Mild (of course), with bread, grains, and hint of dark fruit. Light and smooth.

nimbleprop (8924) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - APR 30, 2014
16oz pour at the brewery pours a clear dark amber with some creamy white head. Nose is very mild, cracker, some yeast, bread crust. Flavor has plenty of bread crust, whole wheat floured, mild fruit, plum, raisin. Clean finish. Sessionable.

Nuffield (4245) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JUL 25, 2013
There’s a bonus point or two for any brewer willing to try this style and keep the abv below 3.5. It is doubly nice to have it on a handpull, though the palate wasn’t as smooth as it should have been. Malty, caramelly, moderately rich notes. But in the end, it achieves the goal of a mild, which is to be drinkable but not special--a beer for every day. (on handpull, Church Key, Washington DC)
