Draft at Mad Fox poured into a nonic pint glass, freshly tapped just 3 hours prior for their First Saturday Brewery Open House. Pours a nice dark amber/orange color with little off-white head. Aromas of orange, grapefruit, citrus peel and rind. Tasting notes of big grapefruit and orange citrus, pine, caramel, floral notes, big hops. Medium body with a dry finish, semi-juicy mouthfeel. Possibly my favorite of Mad Fox’s IPAs. radagast83 (8059) - Alexandria, Virginia, USA - NOV 11, 2010
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2012 On tap at the brewpub. Poured an amber color with a medium-small white head. Aroma was heavy on the orange, sweet notes, touch of bitter citrus. Flavor was orange, creamy notes of oranges, floral notes of the bitter hops helped seal the deal on this one. Drake (13724) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 11, 2011
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy reddish amber color with a large offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of strong citrus hops, caramel and toasted malts. The taste is big citrus hops including orange, pineapple, grapefruit and candied citrus, as well as caramel malts. Medium bodied. Strong lingering bitterness. They picked the right name for this brew. It describes the flavor profile perfectly. Big old Orange notes on the nose and the orange zest comes thru in the flavoring. A fun beer to drink, I polished the growler off with little effort.

Sampler at the pub. Smelling this from about a foot away. Good citra aromas. Tropical pineapple flavors. Decent body behind it. Could drink a lot of this.

Draft. Hazy orange amber color, white edge head. Aroma of orange peel, bitter grass. Taste is bitter citrus. Like a hopped Grand Marnier. Very tasty. Huhzubendah (3705) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 24, 2014
Growler shared by MNishCT77. Thanks Mark!
The beer is dark amber with a tan head. Certainly darker than I anticipated. Citra hops are present but only play a supporting role. This beer is the definition of balance, and I don’t mean that disparagingly, as is often the case when discussing IPAs and DIPAs. Sweet citrus with a sturdy malt body. Again, the balance is so elegant here. Bread crust and citric hops in perfect harmony. Really tasty. This beer has been on my radar for years. I’m grateful for the opportunity to try it. dlovell2 (2130) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUL 2, 2016
On tap at brewery in Falls Church. Pours copper with an off white head. Fresh citrus aroma with dank pine resin. Flavor is citrus, tropical fruit, with grapefruit zest and pine finish.
