COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our harvest ale, brewed with over 100 pounds of locally grown, heirloom varietal Cinderella pumpkins. The pumpkins are roasted, then pureed and added to the mash for sugar and color contribution. We add pumpkin pie spices during the last part of boil in the kettle. Very light, pumpkin pie-like flavor can be found in this orange hued brew.

On draft at the brewery. Pours a cloudy gold with a white head. Aroma of allspice and cloves. Pumpkin pie spices dominate the flavor.

Grabbed a growler from the brewpub yesterday afternoon. Pours a solid, hazy orange with a thin whisp of off-white head. Laces pretty well as it goes down. Nose is very nice, yet quite subtle. Definite notes of caramelized malt, roasted pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, and a host of other pumpkin-pie spices. I love the balance between the sweet, caramel nature of the malt and the hint of spices. The taste takes this even further in the right direction, as the balance is quite nice and refreshing. This is the rare pumpkin beer that is neither cloying nor suffering from spice overload. Mouthfeel is a bit thinner than I would like, although I’m bumping it back up a bit due to the fact that my tongue is assailed and pierced by excess cinnamon and clove. Drinkability is really great. My wife and I split a growler of this without a problem. I certainly could have gone for more, which is a rare occurrence, as I’m normally quite done with a pumpkin beer after 6-8 ounces. On tap 5 oz. sample at Mad Fox Brewing Company restaurant in Falls Church, VA. Lightly hazy, nearly clear amber with off-white head and good lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, herbal hops, caramel, bread and spice. Taste of caramel, nutmeg, cinnamon, spice, bread, fruit, pumpkin and light hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft sampler at the brewpub. Pours a dark copper with small offwhite head.Lots of seasonal spices with definite pumpkin presence. I am admittedly not a big fan of most pumpkin beers, and Punkinator did not stand out in any positive way for me. Taste is a bit muddled and too much spice.

Nice caramel coloring with little head. Excellent mix of pumpkin spices that doesn’t overpower the beer like a lot of other pumpkin brews seem to do. Well done

Draft. Poured a hazy orange with a super thin white head. Not a good example of a pumpkin beer. The pie spices totally overwhelmed the other flavors, especially since it was a thin beer. Needed to highlight the pumpkin richness more. Cloyingly sweet.
