Tap at the brewpub. Dark murky brown pour with a spotty head. Definitely get the currants and dark fruit, not so much of the saison funk though. DiarmaidBHK (5881) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Pours black with very little head. Not much on the nose. A bit of fruit and wine vibe on the tongue which makes me think a bit of barleywine. Unfortunately it’s supposed to be a saison. I got very little of the farmhouse funk. Not really to style. radagast83 (8455) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - MAY 26, 2012
Draft at brewery, 10oz served in snifter. Poured a dark black color, not translucent, small white head. Aroma was a touch tart fruits, tartness, malt notes. Flavor was sweet malts, touch of fruit, tart notes. Interesting. mansquito (6896) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Mad Fox tap ($5.75): Pours a dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is of saison yeast and fruitiness. Tastes I spotted were cherries (yes, the description was right), something akin to licorice, and yeast. Beer is a little sweet. Roasted or toasted hops don’t really appear too strongly in this. Overall, this was interesting, but I don’t really think it is something that I would want to get again. sonnycheeba (6342) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Tap. Pours opaque black with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and no lacing. Aroma is dark sour fruit, vinegar, floral hops, cookie malt, and some plastic notes. Flavor is sweet malt forward with supporting hops and dark fruit esters; dry finish. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

Tap. Pours black with a small, fizzy light tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is dark fruity esters, light roast and coffee malt with earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with dark fruity esters, Belgian yeast and a dry finish. Full body and medium carbonation. Scubatrip (610) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - MAY 9, 2012
On tap at the brewpub, pours black with a minimal head. Not much to the nose, very fruity taste with hints of chocolate. It maintains its farmhousey-ness, not dissimilar to a dunkelweizen. Very smooth, I'd order again.

Tap. Thin dark khaki head on a very deep dark brown. Touch of chocolate and sour dark fruits and cherry in the aroma. Flavor is pretty much the same but less acidic than aroma and dark cherries really come through. Odd beer, but not bad. Medium silky MF.
