COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our interpretation of Belgian inspired dark Saison brewed with over 8 different imported German and English malts and then gently hopped with German Perle hops. The beer was fermented with a French farmhouse style yeast strain to lend dark fruit notes with hints of cherries and currants that then finishes with a dark chocolate flavor.

Tap at the brewpub. Dark murky brown pour with a spotty head. Definitely get the currants and dark fruit, not so much of the saison funk though.

GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 9, 2012
Tap at the brewpub. Hazy deep brune pour with wispy tan lace. Nose is estery, toast, baked apple, chocolate powder. Taste is minerally, a tad papery, chocolate, toast. Drinkable. Not sweet or too astringent. Certainly drying. Some mild sweet alcohol.

Nice stuff. Florals and some raisin in here – really more like a dubbel than a black saison or whatever that category is supposed to represent. Light sweet finish. Pours dark brown with good head. Soft carbonation. Tap at brewpub.

mansquito (6971) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Mad Fox tap ($5.75): Pours a dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is of saison yeast and fruitiness. Tastes I spotted were cherries (yes, the description was right), something akin to licorice, and yeast. Beer is a little sweet. Roasted or toasted hops don’t really appear too strongly in this. Overall, this was interesting, but I don’t really think it is something that I would want to get again.
