16 oz cask pour at Mad Fox into a nonic pint glass. Black with two fingers of light tan head. Aromas of roast, sweet cream, vanilla, chocolate. Draught @ Churchkey, Wash., D.C. Pours cloudy very dark brown with small, airy tan head. Dark, grainy and malty aroma with touches of caramel. Mild, subtle bitter flavour of grain and roast. Very subtle caramel touches. Nearly no carbonation. OK but nothing that would sweep me off my feet.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a watery but opaque black with some tan head. Nose has some chocolate, some bread, cracker, stale coffee, molasses.
