Appearance: dark cola brown, short fizzy tan head. Aroma: subdued aroma of caramel malt, some toffee. Taste: sweet caramel and toffee, brown sugar, treacle, leather, and light smoke. Finish: lingering malty sweetness, but with a surprisingly clean finish given the malt bill and high abv. Notes: Really nice scotch ale. Alcohol perfectly hidden. This beer is a troublemaker. Draught at the source.

Cask at Mad Fox. Pours clear, deep ruby. Small tan foam. Nose is heavier cherry Twizzlers and milk chocolate. Taste is quite sweet to the point of cloying, lots of overly sweetened herbal tea. Palate is much too sticky and dense. Not my style. Ick.
