Opaque dark brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, decent carbonation. Smooth dark malts, touch of creamy sweetness. Modest dark chocolate. Chilli warmth. Light semi dry finish. Just another chilli stout. Bored of them.

A nice porter! Tastes like tabasco chocolate, aroma has hints of chocolate and coffee, spice does increase the more you drink, very good easy drinker!

Bottle as a Christmas gift from Jill. Cheers! Pours deep mahogany, almost black with a layer of cream froth. Pleasant choclate aroma. The taste has a lovely smooth chololte flavour with a subtle chili kick in the finish. The heat seems to increase the mor you drink. Very nice.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of plums, fruit, faint smoke. Taste is fruity, light smoke. Slowly building heat is well judged on the finish.

Very dark, with a head that fades fast. Nose has chocolate, roasted malt and berries. Medium texture, a bit frothy. Tastes initially of a typical porter, with the chilli kick at the end. But the chilli ends up overpowering - it’s not too strong but the beer flavours aren’t quite up to the task of matching it.

Bottle, The Offie, Leicester. Very dark brown with a beige head. Sweet chocolate milkshake with coffee and plummy, berry notes. Good peppery but not overpowering chilli heat. Oily with lemon and an earthy, peppery finish. Good.

rodbod (421) - Motherwell, SCOTLAND - JAN 31, 2016
Bottle from the Good Spirits Wine & Beer. Pours black, with a very retentive thick creamy head. Nose is rather disappointing, metallic, not encouraging. Palate is full, thick, complex. Creamy, lots of chilli spice, some chocolate notes. Finish is burnt, malty, chilli heat and a wee bit of caramel. Good effort.

Roasted malt and coffee in the aroma. Flavour has the roasted bitterness of toasted malts and a light heat from the chilli.

Pours a black colour. Taste is of roasted malts and mild chilli with a slight burn on the aftertaste
