Bottle from Drinkmonger, Bruntsfield, Edin. Cloudy yellow. Thin head that goes away promptly. Aroma has yeasty, Saison notes with some serious funk! Fruit salad sweets. Bit sweaty. A wee hint of the musky, slightly smokiness of the vanilla pods. Taste is sharp with more, softer this time, sour character. A hefty dose of the bitter rhubarb addition comes through midway. Bit of acrid puke! Some rather harsh medicinal notes. Tart, juicy finish. Medium to lightish body. Medium carbonation. Bit too much for me. Not my bag of brew

Though this one had slipped the net, so good to finally get my paws on it. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and fairly dry. Good fine carbonation. Good fresh rhubarb kicks off, tangy. Some bitterness creeps in, traces of orange and tangerine peel. A nice light vanilla before a crisp finish. Overall impression is indeed quite Rhubarb and Custard like but with a light bitterness. Good invention again by the mad ones.

Keg @The Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Pours cloudy light orange. Big citrus fruit nose with some rhubarb, light vinegar/sour brett funk.. HUGE rhubarb taste (which i love) sweetness coming through with the vanilla, this does what it says, this is rhubarb and custard (just without Richard Briers).

330ml bottle from Beer Heroes. 6%. Uses rhubarb from the Wirral. Pours hazy amber with good white head. Aroma is lightly sweet berries and rhubarb. Taste is a bright saison with some welcome tart rhubarb sourness, soft vanilla and chewy rhubarb & custard sweets. Good combination with no single element overly present. Very nice.
