Mad & Noisy is a new small batch series from Creemore Springs Brewery, named after the two rivers that merge and flow through the village of Creemore. The first release is Hops & Bolts India Pale Lager, a Czech twist on an English IPA. Hops & Bolts IPL is a bit lighter than an IPA, but a bit fuller than your golden lager, featuring a pithy bitterness that blends to a silky balancing malt sweetness. In the glass, youll see a slight unfiltered haze which settles to a bright orange-cedar colour and a dense, lingering off-white head. The big hoppy aroma features a blend of light tropical fruits and bold piney and grassy notes.

Drank on tap at the 20th Mondial de la Bire, May 30, 2013. Honey amber, medium head. Aroma hops a little sweet, a little fruity cereal. Taste of green and dry hops, not very tasty, not bad bitterness. This is a typical beer commercial or false micro beer!

Canned at Berts, Canadian Tire Center, Ottawa. Clear amber, rich firm head. Aroma of salty caramel. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Sheer resin. Perhaps some buttery caramel, then just resin. Inky resiny finish. Vile. Do the people producing this beer actually drink beer themselves??

Bouteille de 625 ml. Couleur cuivre trouble avec un moyen col blanc. Arme de malt, de sirop et dhoublon. Le got est celui du malt, des crales grilles, du miel et du houblon. Lamertume lve fait presque penser une IPA.

Hazy dark gold color with moderate activity. Creamy beige 3 finger island head, lasting around 10 minutes, with good leggings. Flavors of biscuits, caramel, orange, pineapple, lemon, roasted grains, herbal spices. Sugary yet overwhelmed by bitterness. Oily, almost full body, with moderate carbonation. Strong strength finish, lingering astringent grassy and piney hops, with caramel and tropical fruits. Feels more like an IPA. The smell is faint and the taste is decent, but nothing amazing. Okay freshness, but a little dull. A little too strong for the lack of flavors. Overall the quality is pretty average for this craft.

Smell: orange peel, caramel, floral hops. Taste: thin mouth feel, low carbonation. Finish: bitter dry, mild pine note, astringent. Seems unbalanced - bitter without much citrus. (can code D131616:01, tasted 06/05/16)

Can from the beer store. Pours orange amber with a white head that leaves some light lacing. Aroma is malts and carmel with a hint of hops. Flavour is sweet malts and tangy hops which gives it a good bitterness. Good beer.
