On tap at The Linkery, San Diego. Pours a very hazy reddish brown color with a minimal head. Aroma is heavy on raisin, vanilla bean, brown sugar, and alcohol. Flavor is similar to aroma, heavy on ripe fruits, dark malts, sugar, brandy, a hint of wood. Full bodied and thick, sticky on the palate. Finish is lingering wood and alcohol. Easy drinking but potent
On tap at the Bistro BA Fest. Pours brownish copper with a short beige head and a slightly sour vanilla aroma. There is a rich toffee and vanilla flavor starting sweet then turning more bitter at the finish. A very tasty brew with a warm alcohol trail. bhensonb (15504) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 13, 2011

Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Brandy and malt aroma. Toffee and malt flavor with brandy. Medium bodied. Toffee and caramel lingers with brandy. nickd717 (4780) - San Francisco, California, USA - DEC 16, 2010
On tap at the Bistro -Bal Aged Fest. Pours ruddy brown from the tap with a small but lasting off-white head sitting on top. The aroma is excellent, with sweet caramel malts, a nice barrel character with vanilla and slight oxidative notes, brandy, and a little sherry. The flavor is bomb. Sweet caramel malt and toffee, brandy, oak, vanilla, and nice dried fruit notes. Very tasty. Medium-full bodied with carbonation on the softer side and a rather smooth mouthfeel. Really liked this one overall. hayduke (5579) - Eureka, California, USA - NOV 21, 2010
At Strangebrew 2010 in Eureka, CA. This poured a muddy brown with a robust tan head. Nose of ripe fruit, vanilla, oak, caramel malts, and booze, in this case bandy. Full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel with alcohol clearly present.. The flavor is very rich with the same fruit, vanilla, oak, caramel malts, and alcohol found in the aromas. Finish is long and bitter. Similar to the Bourbon aged but the alcohol is just a little too present.
