UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Bottle. Very dark amber pour with a nice fluffy mostly white head that dissipates into a thin white ring. Aroma is caramel, nuts, and a touch of Christmas bread. It’s a little spicy on the nose - nice. Body is carbonated yet creamy. Taste - whoa, here come the hops! Pine and citrus hops up front, caramel malt right behind it, and the spice character persists. This is an excellent amber. alexsdad06 (10486) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - APR 14, 2008
12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear dark amber with a medium sized beige head. The aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, fruity, and a hint of pine. The flavor is much of the same; sweet, caramel, fruits. All in all a pretty standard amber. Drinkable, but not anything to get excited about. DuffMan (10456) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 7, 2008
On tap at the Yardhouse in Rancho Mirage California. Rich copper red-- striking! Fresh fruity hoppy caramel aroma. Definitely the freshest of the taps I tried. Very nice rich toffee and pomegranate fruit with a mild hop finish. Excellent. olio (10374) - Tampere, FINLAND - NOV 1, 2016

Pours clear mahogany-red color with a large off-white head. Strong malty aroma with resin and pine, some hops, orange and hints of caramel. Flavor is surprisingly a bit chocolaty at first, malty, resinous hoppy, some caramel sweetness at the end. Bitter palate. Better than I expected given the fact that I really don’t fancy the style that much.
Bottle from Taniguchi. Nice chewy malt nose, caramel fudge and grassy hops. Pretty amber-brown with a tight, fine head. Nice rich caramel malts, light chocolate fudge, plus good American hops, more grassy and piney than citrus, though. Solid Amber.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown with a thin, tan head. Aroma is resinous hops, caramel, toffee. Taste is bready malt, caramel, fresh acidic hops. Creamy mouthfeel. I was pleasantly surprised by this. bb (9525) - Alamo, California, USA - JUL 11, 2005
Bottle. Mahogony brown color with a decent beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Malty flavor, with some underlying citrus hops. Clean finish. JoeMcPhee (9427) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 5, 2009
Deep amber pour with a thick sticky tan head. the nose is fairly sweet and malty with a bit of herbal hoppiness over the top. A little bit of sweet toffee and some pretty nice cascadey type citrusy hops. Good balance with a nice lingering sweetness. Soft and sweet with a nice balance and a touch of nice lingering sweetness. Soft and fruity with a nice grapefruity finish. As it warms there is a nice hoppy spiciness that picks up. douglas88 (9427) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Bottle for 1 buck from Guntown chugged before the wedding rehearsal in the parking lot. A clear amber color. Smooth with nice caramel and hop bitterness. Quite big for an amber. Good. blipp (9374) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 26, 2008
Bottle. Pours red with an off white head. A bit of sweetness in the aroma with some light hoppy bitterness. Smooth body and a well balanced flavor with sweet malt, hops, and earthy notes. Nice.
