COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
23rd Anniversary

Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. Rich and decadent, Rorschach IV is a chocolate lover’s paradise of sublime liquidity. Pouring darker than the depths of a black hole with a rich tan head, a dominant sweet chocolate aroma bestows mouthwatering anticipation. Complex malt flavors blend with the smooth texture of oats and wheat, with powerful compliments of sweet and bittersweet chocolate and a spicy touch of rye. The ultimate dessert stout, pair with a dollop of fresh vanilla ice-cream for an exquisite other worldly experience.

On tap at Belmont Station Bier Cafe, pours black with an amber tinge with a small light brown head. Aroma of oatmeal and chocolate, light roast and bitter dry cocoa. Flavour is very roasty, characterized by this roast; there are some mild oats and dry cocoa. Super smooth, well-balanced between the dry cocoa and roasted malt. Excellent impie.

Draft. Black beer with no head. Nutty, malty aroma with light chooclate. Chooclate and light toffee flavor with light earthiness. Medium bodied. Chocolate and light eart lingers with light toffee.

Got this at the brewery tasting room in Blue Lake, CA. Came in the glass looking like used motor oil, black as night with a tan head and it left lacing rings like glue. The nose is dark chocolate roasted malts with ripe dark fruit like plums and raisins. Bold body and a thick creamy mouthfeel. The alcohol is very much under control here for an imperial stout resulting in no burn at all. The flavor is super rich and a blast of chocolate but there is a nice bitterness that carries though the finish. A really great beer and very much up to Mad River’s high standards.
