Bottle thanks to drowland. Pours cloudy amber with white head. Nose and taste of caramel malts and floral hops. Predictable Double IPA. bhensonb (15630) - Woodland, California, USA - SEP 24, 2006
Delerious combined aroma of citrus and pine. Deep amber color with frothy tannish head. Starts with pine and moves to grapefruit, followed by belgian candy sweetness (have to get that alcohol from somewhere). The Belgians are trying out double IPAs, and I could have thought this was one. The lingering finish is complex, but the hops are definitely there. Aroma of piney hops. Bitter hoppy flavor with pine, resinous notes and a bit of malt and caramel to back it up. Medium-bodied. Decent. 7/4/7/3/14=3.5
Bottle from River’s Bend. Poured hazy copper color with a moderate white frothy head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium body with a slick texture. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet small alcohol bite finish of moderate duration. This is a solid beer.

A lightly hazed amber DIPA with a thick creamy lacing off white head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with smooth floral c-hops, resinous. In mouth, a smooth californian DIPA with citrusy floral hops, grapefruits, biscuitty malt, a classic, not over the top. On tap at New World Brewery, Jan. 8 2011. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 12, 2007

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market, Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy copper color with a large frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of sticky citrus hops with a tropical and herbal finish. Taste is bitter citrus hops along with mango, melon and a resiny finish. Smooth, medium bodied. The bitterness lingers at the front of the tongue. Good beer. crossovert (13747) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 20, 2011
Comes in a stubby 12 oz bottle with a slightly different label than pictures. No apparent date.
Pours into my american pint glass with a full 2 finger, lumpy, off-white head and a murky apple cider colored body.
Smells very sweet and citrusy, very nice for a DIPA. California styled in the scent department for sure.
Taste has a decent malt backbone but the hops are the main show with some cirtus lemon and grapefruit notes and a bitter finish. Not as intense as its other west coast counterparts, but still a solid tasting DIPA. Mouthfeel is a little too smooth for me.
Overall a decent offering in the DIPA category, not to malty, and enough hops to excite the palate somewhat, it is a bit pedestrian but is better than the lower tier beers such as Maximus. BeerandBlues2 (13718) - Escondido, California, USA - MAR 14, 2008
12-oz bottle received via trade with mgumby10. Pours hazy harvest orange with a small, frothy, white head, somewhat lasting with spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread, cookie, lightly toasted grain), heavy hops (pine, flowers, grass, citrus), average yeast (dough, sweat) with notes of apple, pear, and butter. Medium bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness.
