On tap at brewery co. Medium bodied, red. Roasted malt reminded me alittle of a brown ale. Middle of the road for me wasn't dying for another but wasn't bad by any means ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer has a decent reddish brown color to it that passes some light through it, has a mild white foam ring and some lacing on the glass. The smell is average with an obvious caramel and brown sugar smell and some of the dark fruit on the back end. The taste is decent that moves hard in with a boozy, sweet taste to it (almost bourbon barrel) that fades away slowly. The mouthfeel is average as it almost feels boozy and bitter. Overall, the beer is decent, not the best scotch ale I have ever had but not the worst.

Included as part of a sampler at the restaurant. I found most of the beers here to be average to below average. Nothing very memorable from what we were able to taste during our visit.

On tap at the Brewpub Pours a deep reddish amber color with an off white head that sticks around for a bit. Smells sweet with caramel, sugar, cherry, prune, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is mostly sweet caramel and cherry with hints of melanoid and alcohol. A bit over carbonated with a medium body and a sweet slick chalky mouthfeel. This was probably my favorite beer from Madison, but it is still just an average beer.

Tap at the brewpub - Lots of toffee malts, peaty earthy notes. Dusty nuts, sweet with a hint of caramel. Tasty.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy amber with an off-white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was a combination of pine and sweet malts with a bit of an odd astringent note. Flavor was similar with a slight astringent note but other wise a decent combo of sweet malts and pine hops.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours copper with a tan head. Smells earthy with some caramel hints. Tastes spicy and semi sweet with some floral elements on the finish.

Sampler at resturaunt. Clear golden brown, no head. Plum and raisin aroma besides caramel malt. Plum, stone fruit and chocolate flavor, pleasant. Finish is bitter and slightly sour, sourness doesn’t seem intentional.

Tap->juice glass: Pours a thin, white, diminishing head atop a dark amber body. Aroma of candy corn. Bitter taste, medium body, and medium flavor duration.

on tap-pours an off white head and copper color. Aroma is peat/caramel-medium malt. Taste is sweet peat/caramel-medium malt, secondary earthy hops bite.
