superspak (6212) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - DEC 8, 2017
12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/9/2017. Bit of a gusher can. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper/pine, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/earthy/piney hops and bready malt flavors; with solid strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, cracker, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pepper, pine, cracker, biscuit, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy/piney hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.9%. Overall this is a very nice IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy/piney hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very classic tasting Midwest style IPA. Dank and vibrant Centennial, Chinook, Cascade hops; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering.

Hazy rich golden hue under a thin white sticky cap. Nice tantalizing resinous floral hoppy nose. Crisp floral hoppy and slightly earthy piney flavor that’s dank and piney bitter. Crisp dry finish. Nice pine centric IPA.

12oz can - it pours a mostly clear dull golden yellow with a med fluffy off white head. The aroma is a combination of upfront pine and citrus hops with a semi sweet maltiness. Quite tasty and nearly balanced with great bitterness and sweet bready malts.

Pours a nearly clear golden with a short white head. Subtle, clean hoppy nose. Crisp hop flavor. Well-balanced malt backbone. Maybe just a fade more hoppy than the grain can balance, but very close.

UPDATED: OCT 9, 2017 Can (Sep 06, 2017 canning). Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, kiwi, orange), with light notes of plastic, onion, and butter. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not terribly interesting nor very clean, but it's ok.
