COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Raspberries and chocolate go together like two peas in a pod. But dont worry, theres no peas in the Rubus Cacao. Rather the sweet chocolate, roasty bitterness and dark raspberry fruit combine in perfect harmony. Who knows, the Rubus might even become the pea in your pod!

10 oz draft at the The Eagle Food and Beer Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pour is an opaque brown with a small tan khaki head. The aroma is raspberry, cocoa and coffee roast malt. The taste is nice blend of the raspberry tart fruit, the sweet cocoa and the roast coffee closing out. The palate is medium to heavy bodied with soft carbonation and a sweetish malt roast finish.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown bordering black with a minimal tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and a hint of raspberry. Taste is surprisingly raspberry up front, followed by chocolate malt, then a lingering raspberry on the aftertaste. Mouthfeel was light...could be a little fuller to improve this beer. Overall a great stout, and one of the better brews from Madtree.

Pours a dark chocolate color with a dark fruity choco aroma. Taste is sweet chocolate mixed with a dark sweet fruit flavor. An odd combination that was successful. Great complexity with a smooth finish leaving a dry roasted malt and fruit in the aftertaste.

On nitro at Madtree last month. Classic red/dark brown clear khaki head. Raspberry jam, pie filling, chocolate sauce. Moderate roast, earthy, light fruit tang. Nitro body, lasting coffee-sludge finish. Nice.

Can to sampler that poured a dark brown to almost black with a smallish mocha head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate and hints of raspberry almost like raspberry preserves. The flavor was about right with the aroma nice blend of roasted malts and dark chocolate and a little more raspberry in the middle and on the end. Nicely balanced start to finish. A solid stout.
