*Old rating. Best before 19.04.11. Rated as "Pottensteiner Schlüggla". Malty fresh and grainy beer. Nice bitter, nice grainy with malts and hints of bread! Nice. zvikar (6068) - Ramat Gan, ISRAEL - MAY 7, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks avrashi. Pours hazy yellow with a nice head, aroma of apples, lemon, acetaldehyde, flavor of acetaldehyde, apples, bitter, medium bodied. DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JAN 16, 2015
Bottle sample at a tasting at Max’s place. Thanks avrashi. As Pottensteiner Schlüggla. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of graininess and green apple (acetaldehyde). Sweetish flavor with some graininess, slightly sourish apple and a bitterish finish. Quite light-bodied. Strange. Drinkable but not great. Marheb (5717) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 4, 2014
(Bue sur place): Le miel est tonitruant dans cette concoction malté saupoudrée d’herbes fraiches. L’eau dure de Pottenstein aiguise la finale. Buvabilité sans équivoque. MartinT (9852) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 17, 2014
My Bottom Line:
omhper (24973) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUL 27, 2014
Honeyed biscuits are eventually met by mild herbal hop bitterness in this silky Märzen.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the clear honey gold.
-This one was mostly malty, as expected.
-The flavor profile is appropriately delicate.
-All in all, this was well-made, but entirely forgettable.
On tap at the brewpub.
Bottled, from Landbierparadies, Nuremberg. Hazy deep golden, rocky head. Fruity nose with some apple tartness. Dryish with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Fruity and slightly tart, notes of dough and peach. Low-medium bitterness. The apple tartness does not appeal to me at all. miggle (339) - Fürth, GERMANY - APR 22, 2014
Clear golden color, weak head. Smell of hay. Tate is rather fresh of grass and hay. Sweet in the middle, some low bitterness in the end. Good average beer. Beerhunter111 (20356) - P´Castle, GERMANY - MAR 30, 2014
Ins Glas ergießt sich ein klares goldenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch malzig, würzig, leicht fruchtig. Geschmack würzig, malzig, leicht bitter hopfig. Geiserich (4498) - Linz, AUSTRIA - MAR 1, 2014
Bottle: Golden color and a white head. Aroma is malty with light grassy hops. Flavor is also malty with nice grainy notes and light hop bitterness. 3fourths (9331) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 21, 2013
bottle labeled as "Pottensteiner Schlüggla". clear pale gold with a small white head. cement mix / gravel / mineral heavy nose with notes of banana candy (remember Runts?) and garbage disposal. medium-light body with a sourish grain flavor, dry taste, pasty and course texture, stale grains, urine and chalk. horrible.
