Lovely golden color, not much head. Strong flowery aroma. Taste of citrus with hints of something floral and something fruity. Quite enjoyable. Birdiebeagle (958) - Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 18, 2005
Draft Pours a clear amber with a small head. Aroma of malts and fruit. Taste is a strong fruit blend. Not all that bad. Tasty beer once and a while. jason (1834) - Easton, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 18, 2005
Mild fruity ale. I wouldn’t classify it as a pale ale, less hoppy then I would expect from a Pale Ale. Not bad and not great. Medium flavor. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - DEC 17, 2005
Wasn’t sure what to expect from this "flavored not quite pale ale" Poured a nice orange color w/ a moderate quickly diminishing head. Definately had a sweet, citrus aroma & taste up front. That flavor stayed w/you throughout but wasn’t overpowering. I’m not generally a fan of flavored/fruit beers but I enjoyed this one. Refreshing ganache (5896) - New Jersey, USA - DEC 11, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 30, 2008 A long-overdue re-rate, was probably my second or third micro. Bottle. Lemon-citrus aroma, big perfume somewhere between rosehips and raspberries with a bit of apricot cough syrup mixed in. Noisy orange pour with a fizzy beige head. Malty, chalky, cough syrup taste, apricot and a touch of grain. Medium body with a bit of carbonation. Nice, and different, but a big disappointment from what I remember. Surely wouldn’t refuse another, though.

Three quarter pint brown bottle purchased from Home Service Beer Beverage Discount Center, Glenview, NY. Hazy amber hued pale ale with nice apricot and malty aroma. No discernable head and carbonation. Light-to-medium bodied. Starts and finishes with a slightly sweet synthetic apricot flavor. No discernable hop. Though not my cup of tea, this is an interesting drinkable fruit flavored beer. pbjclimber (150) - Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 3, 2005
Poured a clear amber color without much head. There is a little taste of hops mixed with fruits, the taste of apricot is noticable. This is a decent beer. Gachupines (1252) - USA - DEC 2, 2005
Amber/golden with a thin head. Aroma is somewhat musty and fruity. Taste is malty, weak hops, and some fruit. Nothing too impressive here, probably wouldn’t pick it up again. bitter (1136) - Henderson, Nevada, USA - NOV 22, 2005
i had only heard of this beer, living on the west coast. i was eager to try it when i went to boston. surprisingly many bars/pubs have it on draft. poured light golden brown with little to no head. nose of musty fruits of apricots and apples. mouth pushes the same with a week backbone of maltor wheat and flat hops. thin and weak. what a horrible beer and disapointment. why the hell do they sell this crap? engine engine #9, you suck bro!
