A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because theres never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Pours amber with light head. Aroma is sharp when first poured but fades. Taste is fruity at the start with a bitterness at the end.

Very unique beer. Very stong fruity aroma (not sure Id have pinpointed apricot if I wasnt aware it was in there). Taste is sweet, with equal parts of fruit and hops. Aftertaste has a slight hoppy flavor, but is dominated by the fruit flavor. Not usually a fan of fruit beers but this one is unique and different. MUCH better draft than bottle.

Great infusion of apricot; crisp, light, slight tartness balanced by flavorful taste of grains.

12oz bottle out of a variety case. Poured a golden yellow with an off white fizzy head. Aroma was fruity, like a mixed bag of grandpas dried fruit. Tasted sweet/sour with apricot notes. Thought it would have been light bodied but its heavier. Pretty nice beer, have had it plenty of times.

I enjoyed this beer, a good beer to drink after trying to pound a pick axe through N Carolina clay in order to get some grass to grow

Apricot, apricot, apricot, apricot, apricot, and oh yah some more apricot. Its good for that one time in summer, and other than that only sorority girls get it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured to a hazy gold, with a nice white head. Aroma was certainly fruity, and the taste followed. It was overly fruity (apricot?), and was decent, but not memorable. Dropped off the palate right away - perhaps it was too watery. Recommended by the cashier at my local liquor store, Ive got to discount his recs in the future.

Moderately cloudy amber-tinted orange. Offwhite head makes a brief appearance. Soft, simple, inviting but dry nose that suggests apricots and flowers. Initial flavor replicates aromas but then diffuses disappointingly fast, becoming watery and almost flavorless, leading to a very halfheartedly bitter finish. Not much going on in this one.

Magic Hat #9...someone handed me a pint of this at the bar and said it was "kick a$$"...wait or did they say they were "going to kick my a$$"? Hmm...no matter. How do explain this beer? Ok, here goes...take a Yeungling lager, add a dash of hops, then add some apricot/peach flavor. Thats it, thats the secret of Magic Hat #9.

Interesting flavor with some peach and apricot. Tasted better second time around. Overall quite smooth.
