Apricot flavouring
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks Ariel. Clear deep golden. Aroma is a bit anemic, with apricot, notes of other fruits and a bit of grainy hints. Slightly sweetish flavor with light graininess, a malty hint, some fruitiness and a finish with a hint of bitterness. Light to medium-bodied. Drinkable but pretty weak.

Clear light copper body with quickly vanishing white head. Aroma is earthy hoppy, somewhat sweet, some apricot fruitiness. Taste is light -- moderately sweet apricot that's tempered by some mild earthy hoppiness. Somewhat sticky on the palate, detracting from its summer-beer feeling.

Hazy golden ale with a thick white head. Sourish apricot and lemon with wheat in aroma. Good malty base with some apricot and a good dose of sharp hops, crisp in mouth, a bit mineral. Medium bodied.

Drake (14033) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 27, 2008
Bottle. Pours light amber with a thin fizzy head that disappears quickly. Aroma is malt and overwhelming apricot. Bitter malty taste with that apricot coming through even more strongly. Refreshing and a sentimental favorite.

Wheat-y apricot, with a far too blunt of a flavor. The world did not need another wheat/apricot beer.
