Kroger Bottle. Pours honey-golden with a small head. Aroma of citrus hops, wet dog, paper. Flavor is black tea, citrus, bread. Kinda tangy, really bland. gripweed57 (2584) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - APR 12, 2017
From old tasting notes. Amber orange color. Bubbly beige head. Fragrant toasted malt nose. Big bitter hops and toasted malt upfront balance nicely. Lots of hops. Lots of carbonation. slowrunner77 (12139) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 11, 2015
Our take on an IPA - that shoulda warned me off, but no. Co had to know. Apparently their take is boring and malty. Hops underused in this boring arse beer. Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - SEP 27, 2015
Aroma of malty sweetness, with notes of citrus. Pours a deep amber with one-lasting whit head and a little lacing. The taste is malty up front and balanced in the finish with a nice burst of hops. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, nice balance of malts and hops.

Pours deep copper-red, one-finger head at pour that laces the glass nicely. Aroma is faint, a hint of hops, mostly sweeter and more malty. Taste is similar, seems to have more in the way of malts than piney hops. That said, it’s well-balanced, and definitely the best of any of the Magic Hat offerings I’ve tried so far. kanderso43 (17) - - AUG 15, 2015
This is not an IPA. Very little hop character, more malt and sweetness than anything. Not bad, but don't call it an IPA. Block (2842) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - JUL 21, 2015
A pretty decent pale ale. Well rounded with a sweet nose, sugary body, and a hoppy finish. Sweet finish with a little yeast. AbbeyRoade (547) - Missouri, USA - JUL 10, 2015
Good refreshing brew, but not super hoppy. Not that I’m complaining- but definitely not a super hoppy IPA which is rather nice considering the trend is to over-hop them all lately. Sweet amber wheat cereal notes up front and balanced with resinous, sticky hop flavor. Nice body. superspak (5675) - Michigan, USA - JUN 22, 2015
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 4/14/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear deep orange/copper color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, light pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity citrus/earthy hops, dark/bready malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, light pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Fair amount of herbal/piney bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, lemon/orange zest, pear, apple, light pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, balance, and robustness of citrus/earthy hops, dark/bready malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very good English IPA style. All around good complexity robustness, and balance of citrus/earthy hops, dark/bready malt, and light-moderate fruity yeast flavors; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
