12oz bottle. Poured a deep brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, pine, and floral. Tastes of chocolate, roast, floral hops, and some citrus. Thinner and somewhat watery body.

Almost black color, with medium head and body. Modest hop and roasted malt aroma, but both kicked in with the flavor. A fine black IPA!

Nice and toasty, with a flavor of burnt charcoal. The hops are nice biting piny ordeal. The palate is a tad thin but has a good overall character.

Decent. Much darker than I expected (which is a good thing). Allegedly me calling this "decent" makes me a "meanie." I think its alright! Not amazing, but not bad. Id drink it again.

Pours a walnut with a nice 2 finger thick tan head. Nose of chocolate malt. hops earthy but not a lot going on. Decent roasted character for the flavor, with piney hops.

Dont really get an ipa hop character, more like a brown ale with some extra dark malt. The malt profile is more of overcooked grain with high minerality than roast or coffee. IMO, not balanced or sessional.

From bottle. Has a nice fresh and juicy hop aroma to it, sitting atop a rich and roasted malt base - like an IPA-schwarzbier mix. Murky, chunky dark brown body with tons of floaters. This light tan head. Medium body with medium carbonation and light chunks. Starts with roasted barley and chocolate malt, mild molasses sweetness with roasted bitterness and medium hop finish. Finishes dry with light roasted bitterness.

Bottle. Pours a black body with a tan head. Aromatically malty and hoppy. Viney hop tones, light grass y tones, and roasted malt tones. Aromatically okay, seems like everyone has a black ipa now and why not its a very exciting style, actually magic had pulled it off quite well. Personally id rather go with an OC alpine ipa but not bad. Body thins out quite a bit, also this one seems to have a stronger chocolaty malty body, meaning the hops are a bit dimmer then some of the other examples ive had. Regardless it works and is very good.

bottle as part of a mixed 12 pack poured a brown in color with a thin covering of off white head. aroma has some dry hops, a bit of roast, and malts. mouth feel is light and there is average carbonation. flavor has a good dose of hops, dry citrus, mild roasted malt, resins, and some chocolate. a solid drinking beer fresh and the price is right.
