Same bottle as pictured. Poured dark black with no head. We were not sure what to expect. Taste was basically a porter with a little hop bite at the end. Not much else to it. Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 21, 2011
Bottle, pours dark black, smells like a porter, bit of hop in there, in the taste it doesnt have too much hop mostly porter notes, decent tasting blipp (9598) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Bottle. Pours near black with a beige head. Light piney hoppy aroma with light roasted malts. The flavor has lightly roasted malts, chocolate, and piney and floral hops. Pretty good. peterclash (47) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 18, 2011
A large white head looks nice on the very dark body on thhis black IPA. Smooth but a bit watery and not so well balanced. Tastes a lot like an alchol lower form of a porter. More sweet and malty than bitter and hoppy even thou you can taste the citrus from a hop in the aftertaste (think thats the watery part I’m afraid). A litle taste of Chocolate. beerfest5 (1207) - Cloneen, IRELAND - MAY 15, 2011
very smooth. black like a porter, and roasted malty more than hoppy. not bad, very easy to drink, and this is a style that is going to appeal to a mass crowd, but that also means that there is some tough competition. not bad, not going to knock your socks off.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep brown color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, pine, and floral. Tastes of chocolate, roast, floral hops, and some citrus. Thinner and somewhat watery body. milewide (2304) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 30, 2011
Almost black color, with medium head and body. Modest hop and roasted malt aroma, but both kicked in with the flavor. A fine black IPA! Beerdedone (3446) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 17, 2011
Bottle. Pours dark brown/black with a medium tan head. Aroma was earthy with roasted malts, mild coffee, light chocolate, pine and a touch of caramel. Flavor was roasted malts, citrus, coffee, chocolate and some piney hops. Palidor19 (3193) - Brandon, Florida, USA - APR 16, 2011
Nice and toasty, with a flavor of burnt charcoal. The hops are nice biting piny ordeal. The palate is a tad thin but has a good overall character. hypn0toad (267) - Maryland, USA - APR 15, 2011
Decent. Much darker than I expected (which is a good thing). Allegedly me calling this "decent" makes me a "meanie." I think its alright! Not amazing, but not bad. I’d drink it again.
