2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is a really solid pale ale, with a slight aroma of vanilla, and a nice hop flavor with just a hint of malt.

Pours a dark almost brown. Reminds me of an English bitter. I like this beer a lot. Malty and hoppy in balanced proportion. Crisp in the fijish

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle into a shaker pint. Pours dark amber with a 2 finger off white head which recedes to bits and pieces of lace. Biscuit and earth on the nose. Semi sweet caramel malt and biscuits with butter and honey flavor. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This claims to be a paler share of ale and yet it is brown or maybe amber. That’s okay. It’s a rather mild brew but not w/o some charm. There is a bit of caramel and toasty malt character and it’s not all sweet and gross so that’s good. Hops are subdued and kind of earthy or herbal. This is fairly full bodied for a lighter beer with gentle carbonation and just a hint of bitterness to finish. This one kind of grew on me as I drank it. It’s subtle but it works pretty well.

bottle. Poured deep auburn with a tan head. Aroma heavy on the malt with a hop note. Medium-light body, crisp carbonation with a cleansing tart mouthfeel. Bready malt flavour, roasty with notes of toffee and peppery spice, bourbon.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle pour into nonic pint glass. Appearance is lightly hazy amber with minimal sparkle, less-than-finger-width off-white head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is bread dough, caramel. Taste is as aroma. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, lively carbonation and sweet malty finish. Overall, Fat Angel, rest your soul.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle with no date listed. RB calls it retired so I wonder how old this bottle is? But it looks nice. The pour is a mahogany amber color with a lingering cream colored head and good clarity. The aroma brings out the anticipated English-style toasted breaded malt characters and caramel sweetness with a clean but grassy hop note. Light body. The taste is a slight letdown compared to the aroma because there is this soapy type character in the flavor along with the sweet malts and mild hop finish.

Bottle trade with SJ. Not much going on here. Some hop, caramel malt. Thin body. It was ok.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
This was the best and easiest to drink pale ale I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking. Never again will you taste a better pale ale.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I’ve walked past this brew countless times at the store and for whatever reason I picked some up today (3-14-2008).
Pours a hazy copper/amber with a thin white head that doesn’t last to long. Minimal lacing on the way down. Aroma hits me with some vanilla, some spicy hops, and a bit of caramel in the background. Taste is a watery mix of citrus hops and very minimal malt. Medium to thin body. Overall decent brew, I could see myself drinking a few on a hot summer day, but not great enough to buy on a regular basis.
